Domains
Every published MonstarX app gets a free public URL automatically. You can also connect a custom domain — either one you already own or a new one purchased through MonstarX.
Your default URL
When you publish an app, MonstarX assigns it a URL at a subdomain of the MonstarX platform (e.g. https://your-project.monstarx.app). This is live immediately with HTTPS, no setup required.
Option A — Buy a domain through MonstarX
If you don't have a domain yet, you can search for and purchase one directly inside MonstarX.
Steps:
- Open your project and go to Project Settings → Domain.
- Type a domain name in the search box.
- Select an available domain from the results.
- Complete the purchase.
MonstarX handles DNS configuration automatically. Your app is live at the new domain within minutes.
Option B — Connect a domain you already own (BYOD)
Bring your own domain from any registrar (Porkbun, Namecheap, Cloudflare, GoDaddy, etc.).
Steps:
- Open Project Settings → Domain → Connect domain.
- Enter your domain (e.g.
myapp.comorapp.mycompany.com). - MonstarX shows the DNS records you need to add.
- Log in to your domain registrar and add those records.
- Return to MonstarX and click Verify.
Once verified, your app is live at your domain with HTTPS automatically issued.
Propagation time: DNS changes typically take a few minutes to a few hours depending on your registrar and TTL settings. Most verifications complete within 15 minutes.
Subdomain vs root domain

If your registrar doesn't support ALIAS/ANAME records for the root domain, use www.yourdomain.com as the primary instead.
HTTPS / SSL
All MonstarX domains — default and custom — use HTTPS automatically. There is no SSL certificate to manage. If your custom domain shows as "Not secure" after connecting, wait a few minutes for the certificate to provision, then do a hard refresh.
Google sign-in and custom domains
If your app uses Google OAuth sign-in, you need to add your custom domain as an authorized redirect URI in your Google Cloud Console after connecting it. See Google OAuth setup for details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I connect more than one custom domain?
Currently one custom domain per project. Support for multiple domains (e.g. www + non-www) is handled automatically by MonstarX.
What happens to my free MonstarX URL after connecting a custom domain?
The default MonstarX URL continues to work. Both the platform URL and your custom domain point to the same published app.
Can I disconnect a custom domain later?
Yes. Open Project Settings → Domain and click Disconnect. Your app falls back to the default platform URL immediately.
Do I need to renew anything?
For domains purchased through MonstarX: renewal is handled automatically. For BYOD domains: renewal is your responsibility at your registrar. HTTPS certificates managed by MonstarX renew automatically.
